Chapter 10 Local Trademark Progress

Jiangsu Provincial AIC, by making full use of trademark administration coordination network among six provinces and one municipality in East China as well as the trademark protection coordination network in Huaihai Economic Area covering 19 cities and four provinces, speeded up its trademark supervision mechanism, improved its enforcement and dramatically promoted trademark development and protection in the area.

AICs Guangxi Zhuang Nationality Autonomous Region attached their attention specially to key areas, and enforced their supervision and protection of exclusive rights of trademark holders by blocking the circulation of trademark counterfeit and infringement products in the market. By cooperating with AICs at Pan-Pearl River and Western areas, and exchanging information with Public Security Department, other IP administration department and Customs, trademark exclusive right protection had been dramatically enforced.

Fujian AIC adopted special campaign to combat with trademark infringement and protect the brands from western of strait and organized enforcement to April 2nd, Fujiang province AIC authorities carried out Awareness Month of “Standard use of trademarks, Maintenance of trademark rights and interests of enterprises, provincial counseling courses on famous trademarks application reorganization held at the same time.

Chapter 10 Local Trademark Progress

Their efforts to fight against trademark infringement made progress year by year. Based on local characteristics, the AIC strengthened the protection of trademarks related to Taiwan, and was highly appreciated by Taiwan business people.

Jiangxi AIC held a working conference on special campaign of protecting “Lianhua”, China well-known trademarks, and actively built a platform to support cross-provincial campaign cracking down fake productions counterfeiting well-known trademarks.

Guangdong AIC has launched protection of signs of 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, and assisted the Games’ Organizing Committee to well protect its logo marks. In order to create a favorable IPR protection environment for the success of Games, the AIC distributed “Action Plan on Protecting exclusive Right of the 16th Asian Games Signs”, and have taken regular special rectification in the whole city. Shandong AIC has actively protected symbols of the 11th National Games, and together with the Games’ Organizing Committee, organized training seminars on intellectual property. Also the AIC had taken province-wide special action and rectification to ensure a smooth social environment for the 11th National Games.

4. Seriously following the requirement and plan of SAIC and carrying out IPR protection for Shanghai Expo.

In 2009, based on the successful experience of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, AICs at all levels adhered to the requirement and unified plan of SAIC, maintained the market order for Shanghai World Expo, severely combated all kinds of violations to the logo mark of World Expo, and achieved initial success in protecting Expo signs.

Shanghai AIC has promulgated “Implementation Advice on Protection of World Expo Logo Marks”, established a protection coordination mechanism including “Coordination System”, “Supervision System” and “Feedback System” for Shanghai 2010 World Expo signs. Shanghai AIC held a training program for Expo logo mark protection together with Shanghai Coordination Bureau for World Expo Affair, and tried it best to create a favorable environment for the protection of Shanghai Expo.

Gansu AIC has promulgated “Contingency Plan of Protecting the Exclusive Right of Expo Logo Mark in Gansu Province”, and established an emergency reaction team. Gansu AIC promised to have a sound organization, full priority, meticulous division of manpower and responsibility.

Hubei AIC has transmitted the “Action Plan of Protecting Exclusive Rights of Expo Logo Mark” from SAIC, while Hebei, Yunnan and other provinces had promulgated specific plans based on their own practices, and carried out special campaign of protecting exclusive right of Shanghai World Expo logo marks.
