Mengwa, a cartoon figure, is famous in hundreds of millions of Chinese households. As a girl in a ponytail and traditional Chinese costume, Mengwa is famous around the country because she is the leading role of the 45 second official public service video about the Chinese Dream released earlier this year.

Mengwa is designed by Tianjin Clay Figure Zhang Studios. Dating back to as early as the Daoguang reign (1821-1850) of the Qing Dynasty, the studio has inherited the spirit of the founder Zhang Mingshan and has been producing colored clay figures for more than 170 years.

The works of the studio are based on daily life, and extremely vivid. The Clay Figure Zhang has received global acceptation and become the representative of traditional Chinese clay figure production.
