Regions
Tianjin has a fine tradition of physical culture. Local people are very aware of the need to do sport. Over recent years, fitness facilities have improved. A host of international sporting events have been held in Tianjin, such as the World Table Tennis Championship and the Women’s World Cup. Tianjin successfully held 12 football matches as a co-host city of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In 2013, the 6th East Asian Games will be hosted by Tianjin.
