Notes

Donewald in danger

The Xinjiang Flying Tigers barely avoided back-to-back losses when they got by Jilin Northeast Tigers 94-89 on Sunday. But the victorious mood was shattered by fans' thunderous chants calling for the head coach Bob Donewald to step down at the home stadium. Before this season tipped off, Xinjiang was ambitious about finally claiming the title after three consecutive runner-up finishes, but its 7-4 record so far has failed to inspire its fans. Local media reported that Xinjiang has already sacked Donewald and former natioanl team coach Jiang Xingquan has taken the position, but the team has not confirmed it. Meanwhile, ESPN columnist Marc Stein tweeted the news that Xinjiang is also considering dismissing former Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin.
