TBEA UHV market in India wins order worth over 100 million U.S. dollars

Updated: 2010-03-04

At the beginning of 2010, TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group received good news from its overseas market: on February 24th, the State Grid Corporation of India formally awarded eight partially complete works substations with a capacity of 765 kV to TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group Co., Ltd. The engineering contract involved supplying 73 shunt reactors of 765 kV and neutral reactors, arrester, transformer and other major equipment. Meanwhile, the TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group Co., Ltd. will also be responsible for the equipment installation, testing and related tasks such as civil construction with a total of more than 100 million U.S. dollars.

This successful bidding holds significant consequences. It is the first time India has purchased high-voltage transmission engineering equipment of 765 kV from China and also the first time a Chinese company has exported UHV transmission high-end products abroad. It demonstrates not only that the TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group maintains the leading position in the Chinese special high-voltage power transmission and transformation market, but also that the company enjoys wide recognition in the world for its independent and innovative character.
