Chinese space authorities are set to launch their first dark matter particle explorer satellite later this week at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu province.
The satellite, the first of four scientific satellites of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, will observe the direction, energy and electrical charge of high-energy particles in space in search of dark matter, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Scientists believe that dark matter makes up most of the mass of the universe.
