China's first game-based Science Education Base, which advocates imagination and creative learning, is under construction in Lanzhou, capital city of Gansu province. Forty projects were completed in phase one and will be put into use soon, the Gansu government reported on Nov 12.
The base, sponsored by private funds, will accept children from 6 to 15 years old to experience and practice a happy-learning approach to education. The base aims to construct a large integrated school. The total investment of the project was more than 10 million yuan ($1.67 million). Children will learn robot assembly and disassembly, cooking, and traditional handicrafts. The comprehensive base will encourage science education, foster mental health and enhance social skills.
