A record 1,000 people from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan took part in the 2017 Cross-Straits Workers'Cycling Race in Pingtan, Fujian province, on April 23.

This was the fourth year the event, jointly sponsored by Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone administrative committee, Fujian Federation of Trade Unions, and China Cross-Straits Association of Labor Relationship Advancement, has been held.
The top nine finishers in each group—men's mountain and road, women's mountain and road, and elderly cyclists—shared the total prize money of 100,000 yuan ($14,535).
The top eight slots in the men's road group were all taken by Taiwan cyclists, while Fujian's cyclists prevailed in the men's mountain contest, with the top six places all taken by athletes from the mainland.
