One touching aspect of the harvest is Guifeng welcoming visitors from nearby towns and cities, such as Fuzhou and Xiamen, to share in the festivities. Many visitors take the opportunity to experience traditional farming culture and the presence of these fellow Fujian province residents is fitting given the village's history as a way station for travelling government officials, traders and scholars.
