Pingtan a favorite destination for Taiwan entrepreneurs

A delegation of 26 people from a chamber of commerce in Kinmen county, a Taiwan islet just a couple of kilometers off the coast of Fujian province, recently visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province on Nov 23. They come with a mission of understanding Pingtan's business environment for investment and entrepreneurship, according to ptnet.cn.

Lu Chunming, deputy director of the pilot zone, welcomed the delegation and briefed them about Pingtan's opening up and development. Lu also answered the delegates' questions about preferential policies for Taiwan's e-commerce companies and approval procedures for Taiwan's pharmaceutical products in detail.

The group also toured the Taiwan Innovation Park, the Haitan Ancient City, the Pingtan Planning Museum, the Pingtan-Taiwan Duty-free Commodity Market and the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland.

Cai Yunren, head of the chamber, said that they gained a better understanding of Pingtan's favorable policies and looked forward to more cooperation opportunities.
