An administrative committee for the free trade zone (FTZ) in Fuzhou city, Fujian province, is due to be set up by Jan 25, fznews.com.cn reported, citing the municipal FTZ office.

The Committee will use the Shanghai Pilot FTZ’s administrative committee, which is the authority of administrative approval and penalties, as a working model

There will be eight windows handling approval procedures after the office building for the Committee is selected. And six municipal agencies – industrial and commercial bureau, taxation bureau, commerce bureau, quality supervision bureau, Fuzhou Customs and entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau – will settle in to provide services, said insiders.

Fuzhou, together with Pingtan and Xiamen, were included in the FTZ plan approved by the State Council for Fujian province in December.

Authorities in Fuzhou are busy with studying specific policies, mechanisms and programs pertaining to the FTZ development, which will be submitted to the State Council for review and approval prior to the FTZ’s inauguration due in March.

Fuzhou has put forward 63 projects in accordance with its goals of becoming an advanced manufacturing base, a 21st Maritime Silk Road platform and an experimental area for cross-Straits cooperation in e-commerce, trade services, financing and cultural integration, sources said.
