Tianfu International Sports Competition Research Center unveiled in Wenjiang

The plaque presenting ceremony of the Sichuan Social Science Key Research Base (Extension) (2019-2021) was held in Wenjiang district, Chengdu on Jan 4 with nine project in Sichuan province receiving recognition.

In early December 2018, the Sichuan Federation of Social Science Associations decided on the nine bases, which includes the Sichuan University's Sichuan Buddhist Cultural Heritage Research Center and Chengdu Sports Institute's Tianfu International Sports Competition Research Center.

Dr Yang Qiang, associate professor of the Department of Leisure and Physical Education of Chengdu Sport Institute believes that Sichuan's research on the management of sports events and the economic and social development of Sichuan is still in its infancy.

In the future, Tianfu International Sports Competition Research Center will be dedicated to the introduction and evaluation of international sports events and large-scale sports events.

It was established in December 2018, aiming to help form a high-level international scientific research and talent training platform for stronger sports development in Sichuan province.
