24-hour self-service center opens in Wenjiang

Sichuan recently launched the first comprehensive government affairs service center in Chengdu Medical City, Wenjiang district, Chengdu.

The center allows people to use self-service machines to deal with issues like household administration, entry and exit, and vehicle administration.

The service center is located in Wenjiang's Yongning town. Yongning has a permanent resident population of over 24,000. It has more than 100 enterprises of various types, including 30 medical innovation enterprises.

The service center is equipped with two immigration endorsement self-service machines, one electronic legal inquiry machine and one traffic violation self-service machine, all of which provide 24-hour self-service.

The center makes things faster and more convenient for residents in need of certain services.

The second endorsement needed for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan travel certificates, which originally required 5 working days, now takes just 3 minutes.

People can input their license plate number to check records on the electronic legal inquiry machine. The traffic violation machine uses automatic facial recognition technology. Car owners can pay a fine of 200 yuan ($29) or less and 6 points or less via Alipay or WeChat.

The window service area also provides convenient services for residents who need to apply for household registration, ID cards, residence permits and exit and entry certificates for the first time (limited to the city's household registration). Photo-taking services are also available.

The Wenjiang Public Security Bureau explained that the opening of the service center is meant to make services more people-oriented, focus on the changing needs and expectations of enterprises and individuals, make starting businesses easier, and create a high-quality service and business environment in Wenjiang.

The service center has not only made public security services more intelligent and specialized, but also greatly helped local people and enterprises in the district.
