Sichuan Red Seed High-Tech Agriculture Co is a joint-stock company established in 1998 by Sichuan Agricultural University and Sichuan Longsheng (Group). It is mainly engaged in the research, production and application of seed coating agents.

In 2000, the company's Seed Coating Agent Project was named as one of the key high-tech projects for poverty relief by the Sichuan Poverty Alleviation Office, Sichuan Science and Technology Office, Sichuan Planning Commission, Sichuan Agricultural Department, and Sichuan Association of Science and Technology. In 2001, it was included in the National Spark Plan projects by the Ministry of Science and Technology. In 2000, its 12 percent methylated suspension seed coating agent was named as the country's key new product.

The company's R&D center is staffed with nine professionals, including professors, doctoral advisors, associate professors, senior agronomists and senior engineers, accounting for 23 percent of the company's total personnel. The company is equipped with advanced gas and liquid chromatogrophy, artificial climate box, a greenhouse and sites in accordance with the norms of scientific research. The company has equipment with an annual production capacity of 3,000 tons of suspension concentrate seed-coating agent and 1,000 tons of dry powder formulated, drought-resistant and water-retaining seed-coating agent.
