Wenjiang Confucius Temple

Wenjiang Confucius Temple was selected as a cultural landmark of Wenjiang district in Chengdu, Sichuan province by the local bureau of culture.

The Confucius Temple was built in the Song Dynasty (AD 420-479), destroyed during a war in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Stepping into the temple, you will first see the precious metal Wanren Walls. Wanren signifies the profoundness of Confucius's knowledge and thoughts.

All gates in Confucius temples are called Lingxing Gates. Dacheng Hall is the main architecture of the temple. It is grand, solemn and magnificent. In both the Ming and Qing dynasties, Confucius temples were established according to regulations in the royal court and local states

Worshipping was organized at regular intervals, thus making Confucius temples the loftiest place to learn an ancient culture. Wandering in the Confucius temple, visitors can not only see the greatest school from ancient times, but also feel the profoundness of Confucian culture.
