Robot expo to open on Dec 20 in Chengdu

The 2014 International Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Industry Conference and Exhibition is scheduled to open on Dec 20 in Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province.

The world's top robot research institutes, robot-related authorities, and producers, as well as their most advanced products including industrial robots, service robots, entertainment robots and 3D printers, will be present at the three-day expo.

The exhibition area this year covers more than 10,000 square meters; and it is estimated that more than 15,000 professional visitors in the intelligent equipment field will be attracted to the expo.

Luo Jun, executive president of the International Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Industry Alliance, said at the news briefing of the expo on Dec 4 that China's robotics market is booming and the country is striding towards an intelligent manufacturing era when robots will become more commonly seen in all walks of life.

Luo also said that the IRIEIA is planning to build the world’s first International Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Industry Alliance and an Asia Manufacturing Association and demonstration center in Chengdu in 2015 in order to promote the R&D and application of robotics and the intelligent equipment industry.
