The first Sino-German SME (Small and Medium sized Enterprises) Park in West China was built in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province. Its inaugural ceremony took place on Nov 20.
The park is located in Pujiang district of the city and covers 7 square kilometers. It mainly introduces German advanced industrial technology and professionals to develop precision machinery and the biological industry.
It is expected that the park will attract more than 100 foreign companies, especially the German-funded ones, by 2020 and the output value will reach 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion).
At present, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is working out a development plan for the park and preparing to support it from all aspects including policies, funding and human resources introduction.
