It's all about Lu Xun

Lu Xun, the most influential modern thinker and writer in China, not only made great contribution to Chinese modern literature, but led a campaign to promote fine art as part of the “new cultural movement” as well.

This year would be his 130th birthday and it’s the 80th anniversary of the emerging art of new wood engraving paintings that he advocated. Lu Xun collected many foreign art books, stone rubbings, small pieces of cultural relics and foreign paintings of more than 30 varieties, in which there is a larger proportion of the foreign prints.

More than 4,000 wood engraving paintings, 6,000 stone rubbings and nearly 600 kinds of Chinese and foreign art books are all included in this collection. Lu Xun’s collection is the spiritual core for the reconstruction of the new cultural movement and the collection fully reflects Lu Xun’s art view, so through the exhibition, the audience can explore an unwritten and unknown Lu Xun.
