Palaza Roro, an art installation by German porcelain maker Rosenthal is part of the ongoing Beijing Design Week, commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Philip Rosenthal, the second generation of the Rosenthal business.

The idea for Palaza Roro came in 1967 from architect Walter Gropius, the founder of the Bauhaus school of art, for Philip Rosenthal’s pet pig Roro.

Based on a sketch by Gropius, Palaza Roro integrates work from designers like Sebastian Herkner, Ewelina Wisniowska as well as the artist Van Gogh.

The installation is now on show at Mercedes Me in Sanlitun in Beijing.
