American singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams' song Happy has topped Billboard's top 10 songs of the year.
The song written for the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack spent a total of 47 weeks on the Hot 100 charts.
It has already earnt the artist an Academy Award nomination.
Before the summer, Williams was known more as a sideman and producer for other artists including Robin Thicke.
The end of year top ten is measured by the single's performance throughout the year in the US.
Other tracks on the list include One Republic's Counting Stars and Sam Smith's Stay With Me.
