Boy stabs himself after 1-point loss in exam

A 9-year-old boy in Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang province, pushed four needles into his abdomen because he was stressed at only scoring 99 out of 100 in an exam, news portal dbw.cn reported on Wednesday.

The elementary school student Dong Dong (not his real name) was taken to a hospital after he told his parents he had a stomachache. Doctors removed four needles from Dong Dong's stomach, much to the astonishment of his parents.

The boy admitted he stabbed himself with the needles because he was stressed at not acing one of his last semester's final tests, falling one point short of a perfect score.
