Beijing Olympic Park has been effectively used after the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, according to the Olympic Park Administration Committee at the two sessions of Chaoyang district, Beijing.

Taking advantage of the Olympic Games’ brand and the unique regional resources, the Olympic Park has been the venue for over 7,500 major events and high-end conventions and exhibitions, and received more than 400 million tourists from home and abroad.

Meanwhile, the park’s function for international exchanges is improving as the foundation of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s headquarters and the clustering of key projects such as the National Center of Chinese Traditional Culture and the National Art Museum of China.

The National Speed Skating Hall, the only new-built stadium for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, has completed the global collection for project design planning.

The final planning is to be confirmed officially.

Beijing Olympic Park is effectively used

The after-games operation and utilization of Olympic Games’ stadiums is a common problem worldwide. The stadiums in Olympic Park have undergone various forms of exploration and modes innovation after the games in 2008. The efforts have proved to be effective.

According to the statistics, over 7,500 major events and high-end conventions and exhibitions, including the 15th IAAF World Championships in Athletics, the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and Beijing International Film Festival, were held in the park, about 13 percent of which are at an international level.

In addition, the park is the annual regular venue for some high-end brand events such as China Open and Italian Super Cup. The park’s function in international exchanges continues to improve.

Among them, the National Stadium or the Bird Nestle has held over 280 performance and competition activities by October, including 120 with over 10,000 participants.

Moreover, ice competitions and mass ice activities began to be held from 2009. Recently, the 8th Bird Nest Ice Season was officially kicked off, and it has attracted more than 1.4 million participants.

This year’s ice season introduced an 800-square meter’s professional curling section, simulation ice section and skiing experience facilities, giving visitors a taste of the Winter Olympics Games. Children under 12 can attend for free. .

Other activities, such as entrepreneurship and innovation road shows, ice industry forums and an ice hockey league match, will be held during the ice season in Bird Nestle.

The National Aquatic Center or the Water Cube has already received 16.8 million tourists by organizing major swimming and diving events.
