美记者：马来客机失联不可能与飞行员经验不足有关
大西洋月刊记者詹姆斯·法洛斯称不管马来失联MH370发生何种事故，都不可能是马航长期实践经验不足造成的。这架航班机长53岁，副机长27岁。53岁飞行员自1981年起加入马航，累计飞行时数达18365小时。27岁副机长有2763小时飞行经验。两人都是马来西亚人。
越南官员：还没有发现失联客机信号
据英国路透社3月8日报道，越南营救官员Pham Hien称，他们还没有发现马来失联客机的信号。

马航CEO3月8日表示，失踪飞机没有发出呼救信号，飞机上有足够燃料可较原定飞行时间多飞两个小时。
马航公布失联客机乘客名单 包括154名中国乘客
声明称，乘客包括154名中国乘客(包括一名婴儿，一名中国台湾乘客)，38名马来西亚乘客,12名印度尼西亚乘客，7名澳大利亚乘客，3名法国乘客，4名美国乘客(包括一名婴儿)，2名新西兰乘客，2名乌克兰乘客，2名加拿大乘客，1名俄罗斯乘客，1名意大利乘客，1名荷兰乘客，一名奥地利乘客。
外交部及驻外使领馆紧急应对马来客机失联事
据报道，马来西亚航空公司一架波音777客机（MH370）于北京时间3月8日00：42从吉隆坡飞往北京，01：20在越南胡志明市管制区与空管部门失去联系，同时飞机雷达信号消失，迄未得到飞机进境及与中国空管部门联系的消息。
王毅：外交部已启动应急机制应对客机失联
中国外交部部长王毅8日在十二届全国人大二次会议举行的记者会上说，今天早晨，我们得到了一个非常令人忧虑的消息。外交部以及我们有关的驻外使领馆已经启动了应急机制，我们在全力地了解具体情况，一旦有消息我们会及时地向大家发布。
