BANGKOK - Thai army chief Gen. Prayuth Chan- ocha on Wednesday called a meeting of representatives from various parties involved in the country's protracted political crisis.
The meeting to be attended by representatives from the Pheu Thai Party, Democrat Party, the pro-government United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship, or "red shirts," and anti- government People's Democratic Reform Committee is scheduled at 1: 30 pm local time.
Prayuth vowed to broker talks between opposing political sides after declaring martial rule in the country on Tuesday.
