ANKARA -- Turkey's state-run news agency says a court has arrested three more people over Turkey's worst mining disaster, raising the number of suspects facing charges of negligent death to eight.

The Anadolu agency said the CEO and the general manager of mine owner Soma Komur Isletmer A.S., Can Gurkan and Ramazan Dogru, were arrested late Monday.

They were among 25 people who were taken into custody as part of the probe on Sunday. Several were released but at least eight of them could be charged later.

Parliament on Tuesday is scheduled to debate setting up a committee to investigate the disaster at the coal mine in Soma, western Turkey, which killed 301 people.
