ISLAMABAD - At least six people were injured as a blast ripped through a preaching center early Monday morning in Charsadda, a city in northwest Pakistan, reported local Urdu TV channel Samaa.

According to the local media reports, the blast took place at about 6:00 am local time at a preaching center on the Nowshera road of the city.

Police said that it was a home-made bomb attack.

It is not known yet how many people were inside the preaching center when the explosion took place.

Several cars in a show room adjacent to the preaching center were also damaged, said the reports.

Located some 40 kilometers northeast of Peshawar, Charsadda is a city frequently attacked by terrorists. On May 13, at about 5:00 am local time, a suicide bomb attack at an armed border police training center in the city left 98 people killed and over 140 others injured, most of whom were police.
