Kim Jong Il urges effort on tideland reclamation

PYONGYANG - Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), stressed the importance to pay "state attention" to tideland reclamation, the official news agency KCNA reported.

Kim underlined the need to provide everything necessary for the project, during his inspection of the reclaimed Taegyedo tideland, newly-built agriculture base and oyster farm at Amnokgang fishery station.

Kim called on all the units along the seashores to increase fish production so as to supply sufficient fish all the year round.

He said the reclamation of the tideland is essential for the country's prosperity and set new tasks to be fulfilled in the future, the KCNA reported.
