Updated: 2009-09-23 05:00 New York: President Hu Jintao is urging China and the US to deepen cooperation and properly deal with "sensitive issues." Hu revealed his hope when he met the US President Barack Obama, reminding him that sound Sino-US relationship not only benefits both countries but also contributes to regional and global peace and prosperity.
Hu said Sino-US relationship has been generally in good shape and the two countries are trying to fulfill the consensuses the two leaders reached when they met in London at the April's G20 summit. "I hope both countries should deepen cooperation and properly deal with sensitive problems," said Hu who was in the US, attending a string of UN summits on climate change and nuclear non-proliferation and Thursday-Friday G20 summit in Pittsburgh. Obama said he is looking forward to his visit to China in November, which is expected to accelerate Sino-US cooperation and deepen understanding. "I think our relationship is dynamic and through bilateral, regional and international cooperation, our relationship can be boosted to a new level," Obama said. |
