With Tian'anmen Square in Beijing and Times Square in New York, Red Square in Moscow is one of the world's most well-known landmarks. And just as the Chinese and American landmarks are places of patriotism and pageantry, venues for parades marking national day or festivities ushering in the new year, Red Square is a place where a country recalls its proud history and great victories. But there is much more to Red Square than that.
