PYONGYANG - Jang Song-thaek, deposed senior official of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), was sentenced to death and executed on Thursday, the official news agency KCNA reported on Friday.
Jang, former vice-chairman of the National Defense Commission and secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) administration department, was sentenced to death and executed on Thursday by the Special Military Tribunal for "anti-party and counter- revolutionary crime," the report said.
The KCNA reported early Monday that Jang was removed from all posts and expelled from the WPK for his "anti-party and counter- revolutionary crime."
