Michel L. Goget is a confident man. He is passionate in his belief in the luxury hotel he works in, and he is also upbeat about the future of Sanya, where the Ritz-Carlton, Sanya is.
As the general manager of the 450-room resort, the first Ritz-Carlton resort in China, Goget thinks there are limitless opportunities.
His resort is at one end of picturesque Yalong Bay, voted by international visitors as the ninth best out of the top 25 beaches in Asia, according to the latest poll published by TripAdvisor.
This summer, the hotel will continue to hold the Ritz Kids Program - a Ritz-Carlton tradition designed to build engagement and immersion based on the adventures of travel and family bonds.
"Smart camp", as part of the Ritz Kids program, is a two-day discovery program that nurtures children's talent through a range of compelling hand-on activities.
"Following a successful inaugural year, we are very excited to launch Smart Camp at The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya once again," Goget says.
"For eight weeks, coaches will offer children a range of top-notch activities and experiences to bring out their natural talents. At the same time, kids can play and explore the beach and ocean, and spend time with their families."
Packaged with a four-day and three-night stay, Smart Camp promises that young guests will have a healthy, fun, safe and memorable time. It features two full-day experiences geared toward different age groups, forging global friendships among the children while building their knowledge and skills.
It aims to nurture children's talents through sports, science, arts, music and more.
Also, families can participate in the discovery challenges.
As the general manager, Goget not only promotes his hotel's special packages but is also a strong advocate for Sanya's tourism resources. He is also a director of the city's tourism association.
"We are dedicated to integrating Sanya's tourism resources and building a real tropical paradise," he says.
In April this year, the tourism association sent a delegation to the first International Association of Golf Tour held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was to showcase Sanya's golfing attractions to the world.
Though the double roles take up almost all his time, Goget says he still manages a wide range of interests, including an appreciation of good food and wine, and sports.
He tries to find time to play golf each week.
"Hainan Island has nearly 40 golf courses, and each of them has a unique character. That's why we are promoting these resources. I'm very confident that Sanya will draw more and more tourists from both domestic and overseas sectors."
