LANZHOU - Lu Wucheng, a senior legislator of northwest China's Gansu Province, was removed from official post and stripped of status as a national law-maker on Sunday.

The decision was made at the third session of the 12th Gansu Provincial People's Congress.

Lu acted as vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Gansu Provincial People's Congress, and was a deputy to the National People's Congress.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China announced on Jan. 23 that Lu was under graft investigation for serious discipline and law violation.

Luo Xiaohu, who served as executive vice governor of Gansu, was elected to replace Lu's post at the meeting on Sunday.
