Woman charged with drowning two daughters

A woman in Yulin, Shaanxi province, has been detained by police for drowning her two daughters on Feb 18, official news portal people.com.cn reported on Friday.
The detainee, surnamed Lu, was charged with intentional homicide for allegedly dragging her daughters into the Yellow River and drowning them, according to the local police.
Lu reportedly wanted to commit suicide after a furious fight with her husband. She decided to drown herself and her daughters, aged 3 and 6, in the river.
Lu stopped wading deeper when she found her younger daughter had stopped breathing. She left the older girl in the river and took the younger to the bank, resulting the death of both.
