BEIJING - A man accused of killing a baby girl in Beijing has been charged with intentional homicide, according to the No.1 division of the People's Procuratorate of Beijing on Wednesday.
Han Lei is accused of lifting the 34-month-old toddler from her carriage and hurling her onto the ground in Daxing District on July 23, after he fought with the mother and beat her up over a parking space, according to the prosecutors' office.
The girl was severely injured and died despite treatment.
Driver of the car, Li Ming, who helped Han flee the scene, has been charged with harboring a criminal.
Han was arrested by police on July 24. Li surrendered himself to the police on July 25.
Han, who has been jailed before, should be given a severe punishment. Li, who committed his crime while on parole, should complete his previous sentence in addition to further punishment, according to the prosecutors.
No date has been set for the court hearing.
