Constant groping gives statue a luminous spot
Many Chinese know that Yu the Great was a legendary Chinese ruler famous for taming the floods, but according to one statue in Wuhan, Hubei province, Yu also had an attractive wife.
Recently, locals have been enthralled with the bronze statue of Yu's wife that they have been unable to keep themselves from giving her bare breast a rub down every time they pass the statue. The result from the endless rubbing, her left breast is now more polished than the rest of the statue.
The photos of the statue have made a splash online with many Internet users denouncing the "uncivilized behaviors" of passersby. Some found the news amusing saying that one shouldn't link this to vulgarity.
"Even if adults can keep their hands off, who could keep away naughty kids?" one weibo user wrote.
Legend has it that Yu left his wife four days after their wedding to go fight the floods. During the 13 years of flooding, he only passed by the door of their home three times; once when his wife was in labor, once when his son learned to call out his father's name, and once when his son was over ten years old. Each time he refused to go inside, saying that as long as the floods were leaving people homeless he could not rest.
Next, a man's improper use of a toilet, sent him to the hospital.
