"Amazing tool against truancy" appears at university in Henan
A high-tech equipment known as face recognition machine has started to appear in classrooms of a university in Henan province to replace the traditional sign-in system, chinanews.com reported on Friday.
College students need to "scan their faces" in front of the machine to register in class instead of signing an attendance book like before. The machine was introduced to keep students from skipping class and has been called "an amazing tool against truancy" by teachers. The attendance rate has reach 100% since the introduction of the machine. Many students support this high-tech attendance system.
