Banknotes too heavy for robbers
Two thieves in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, stole 1 million yuan ($159,900) in bank notes out of a trunk of an Audi Q7 on Jan 29, the Morning Express reported.
The thieves only made off with half of the contents of trunk.
The car owner's husband, who is a contractor, was going to pay his 80 workers before the Spring Festival holiday.
The thieves later confessed that a bag of one million yuan in cash weighed more than 12 kilograms, and that they didn't have the strength to take more.
They buried the money in a wheat field near their uncle's house. Fortunately, the thieves were caught before they could spend the money.
