Man awarded for unearthing relic
A 26-year-old construction worker has been awarded 500 yuan for handing over an accidental discovery – an ancient bronze sword dating back to 3,000 years, local cultural relics authority in Danfeng county, Northwest China's Shaanxi province said on Sunday, hsw.cn reported.
Li Lei found the sword during construction work on Oct 26. He said someone had offered him more than 100,000 yuan ($16,000) in exchange for the relic, but he refused and handed it over to the officials.
