August 14 marks the 30th anniversary of introducing 39 elks, which are endangered, from the UK to Dafeng, in Jiangsu province. Under the support of the local government and research personnel, the population of elks has reached 3223, of which the number of wild elks is 295, making the Elk National-level Nature Reserve in Dafeng the biggest elk nature reserve, as well as the largest elk gene pool, in the world.
