Situated in the central part in East China’s Fujian province, Putian is renowned for its Mazu culture.
Ancient villages here largely preserve the architectural style of China’s Ming (1368-1644) and Qing dynasties (1644-1911).
With the development of China’s urbanization, Putian has seen the construction of high-rise buildings in the last three decades.
However, it features a harmonious combination of modern buildings and ancient villages .
Boasting a typical subtropical oceanic monsoon climate, Putian is the well-known hometown of many overseas Chinese.
