Lillian Lin is attempting to fill a gap in the luxury travel market, offering
wealthy adventurers personalized trips where they can get off the beaten track without
having to lift a finger. Yu Ran reports.
If you still have annual leave to take before the end of the year and you are too busy to organize your own travel plans, then you may be tempted to seek out the services of Lillian Lin and get yourself a travel butler.
You don’t have to do a thing - just decide whether you want to surf the Indian Ocean or play with penguins in the South Pole.
An experienced traveler, Lillian Lin launched Lahymn Private Travel with her friend Bridge Ni and two other partners with the idea to offer personalized trips all over the planet with the help of a personal travel butler.
Travelers can pick the destination and discuss how they want to spend the holiday with their personal travel consultant, then leave the rest of the planning and arranging to the team.
"Talk to us about your ideas and thoughts, we will present a wonderful and unique holiday for you, anytime, anywhere," says Lin, who has worked as the editor of fashion and wealth related magazines for the past decade and now is the chief operating officer of Lahymn Private Travel.
Before founding Lahymn Private Travel, Lin used to write online blogs sharing her travel stories and tips.
Thanks to her previous career, Lin had the chance to meet with a few high networth individuals and develop regular contact with some tourist boards in foreign regions and countries, receiving the latest tourism information from them.
Lin noticed that the saturated tourism market was missing a service providing customized trips, sought after by Chinese consumers who want relaxing, self-guided tours.
"The growing demand for customized services from Chinese middle- and upper-class consumers inspired me to cater to them," Lin says.
To stand out from the tough competition in the tourism market, Lin and her partners have a unique strategy, targeting wealthy people with in-depth travel experiences, tailored according to their preferences on the itinerary, accommodation, dining standards and types of activities.
