Leaders in luxury travel meet in Shanghai

The International Luxury Travel Market Asia 2013 will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center from June 3 to 6.

The event welcomes 490 luxury travel buyers and agents representing high-net-worth individuals from across the Asia-Pacific region, to meet with the nearly 500 contemporary and classic luxury travel suppliers from more than 70 countries.

It enables buyers to learn more about the high-end products and services around the world, and a growing number of business opportunities in the area.

"ILTM Asia's hand-picked guest list brings the world's premium creators of luxury travel experiences to Shanghai," says Alison Gilmore, ILTM exhibition director.

"This year, Latin America is leading the way with profiling expeditions along the Amazon, in-depth visions of South American contemporary art and authentic, adventurous tours throughout the Andes," Gilmore says. "Latin America joins inspirational products and services from all over the world at ILTM Asia 2013 to dazzle buyers from the key burgeoning markets across the Asia-Pacific, from Japan to Australia and China to (South) Korea."

The destination plans to Latin America can be obtained from suppliers such as Brazil's Matuete, which boasts a team of travel design experts; and Journey Mexico, which specializes in adventures including Mayan exploration and Mexico's natural beauty and heritage.

Mai 10, an Argentine destination management company, will also be showcasing their services. Mai 10 offers various tailor-made itineraries for families, adventurous individuals and groups from around the world. Luxury travel specialists Aracari will also showcase the best of Peru.

Como Hotels will participate in the event, presenting their luxury properties and the latest openings from around the world, ranging from urban hotels and wellness resorts to adventure retreats and island getaways.

"ILTM Asia goes from strength to strength," says Pamela Balce, director of sales for the Asia-Pacific region at Como Hotels.

The event helps international companies to succeed within the region and serves to meet the demands of the most discerning buyers from across the Asia-Pacific.

The number of approved travel specialists at last year's ILTM Asia in Shanghai has been increased by 20 percent this year.

"We are always interested in new buyers, planners and luxury travel suppliers, although they must undergo a strict qualification process if they wish to apply," says Gilmore, exhibition director.
