INCHEON, South Korea - A successful appeal against their disqualification gave Olympic champion Yi Siling's Chinese team a world record in the women's 10-meter air rifle event and an Asian Games gold medal on Monday.
Yi top-scored with 418.7 points in a team total of 1,253.8 at the Ongnyeon International Shooting Range, a fraction better than China's previous world mark of 1253.7.
Zhang Binbin scored 418.3 and Wu Liuxi got 416.8. Zhang was disqualified for using a heavier gun than permitted, but appealed on the grounds she didn't intend to break the rule and had the decision overturned by the judging committee. Iran took the silver medal at 1,245.9.
