The grand opening ceremony of the 2017 China Open was held at the National Tennis Center in Beijing on Sept 30. The tennis tournament is part of the 500 series on the 2017 ATP World Tour, and the last WTA Premier Mandatory tournament of the 2017 WTA Tour.

The biggest combined tournament in Asia features a glittering cast, with six current or former world No 1s and 10 Grand Slam champions battling for a share of the $9.41 million prize. Both singles finals take place on Oct 8.
