He was named African Footballer of the Year twice, winning the title in 2006 and 2009.
He appeared in all three of Cote d'Ivoire's games at the World Cup.
Drogba led the Cote d'Ivoire to their first appearance in the tournament in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and scored their first goal.
He also captained the Cote d'Ivoire at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
Cote d'Ivoire reached the final during the Africa Cup of Nations in 2006 and 2012, in which Drogba played a part in the team.
