Swedish coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has quit a job as the manager of the Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F, the club announced on Monday.
Eriksson, 66, helped the Guangzhou-based club win a play-off position in the AFC Champions League in 2015, after leading the team to third place in the Chinese league this year.
According to an announcement issued on Monday afternoon by Guangzhou R&F, the Swedish international would not renew a contract with the club.
Eriksson, who joined the Guangzhou R&F in June 2013, is reportedly talking with a Shanghai-based club to continue his career in China.
Prior his move to China, Eriksson had worked in eight different countries, including Sweden, Portugal, Italy, England, Mexico, Ivory Coast, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
