Journalists visit venues ahead of 100-day countdown

On July 28 and 29, journalists from over 70 Chinese and international media organisations visited Asian Games venues in Guangzhou's Panyu, Nansha, Tianhe and Zengcheng.
Guangzhou will celebrate the 100-day countdown to the 16th Asian Games on August 4.
The venue tour was organised by the Games Promotion & Communication Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC).
First stop: Asian Games Town Gymnasium
Sports: Gymnastics, Billiard Sports and Squash
The Asian Games Town Gymnasium is located in the south of the 2.73km2 Guangzhou Asian Games Town. It will host Gymnastics, Billiard Sports and Squash events of the Games. The venue will be delivered at the end of August and host test events in September.
Covering an area of 31,482m2, the Asian Games Town Gymnasium has a capacity of 8,000, including 6,000 permanent seats and 2,000 removable seats. The arched roof boasts a rainwater collection and recycling system.
Second stop: Nansha Gymnasium
Sports: Wushu and Kabaddi
The Nansha Gymnasium covers an area of 30,236.3m2 and will host Wushu and Kabaddi events of the Games during 14 days with 17 Gold medals up for grabs.
The venue will host Wushu and Kabaddi test events in September.
The gymnasium has a capacity of 8,080, including 6,000 permanent seats and 2,080 removable seats.
Third stop: Guangdong Olympic Aquatics Centre
Sports: Swimming, Diving and Modern Pentathlon Swimming
The Guangdong Olympic Aquatics Centre is located in the north of the Guangdong Olympic Sports Centre with a capacity of 4,400. It will host Swimming, Diving and Modern Pentathlon (Swimming) events of the 16th Asian Games. The water temperature is kept between 25 and 27℃ in all pools and the water meets drinking-water standards.
