ISLAMABAD - A wave of panic prevailed among Pakistani hockey team as they may have to be without legendary hockey player Sohail Abbas at the upcoming Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
"Since our accreditation center has closed to accept new accreditation of athletes, we are sorry to inform you that accreditation in hockey cannot be accepted," said an e-mail from the accreditation center of the 16th Asian Games.
Pakistani hockey team depends heavily on its penalty corner section and Abbas is the key figure in this trick. Abbas, 33, has scored 306 goals in international competitions, mostly with penalty corner flicks.
