ROME - World footballer of the year Kaka admitted in an interview to be published Tuesday that he thought about quitting AC Milan last season.

Kaka was the inspiration behind Milan's Champions League triumph in Athens in May, when two Filippo Inzaghi goals proved enough to beat Liverpool 2-1 in the final, but incredibly he has now admitted that he considered making that his last game for the club.

"Did I think about leaving Milan? Only before the Champions League final in Athens, but not any more," he told weekly magazine Guerin Sportivo. "One day I want to captain Milan."

Since that heady May day, Kaka has gone on to win three awards naming him the best player in the world - the Ballon d'Or, FIFPro world player of the year and World Soccer World Player of the Year.

He also helped Milan win the Club World Cup Japan in December but he still has more ambitions to fulfill.

"I want to play at the Olympic Games in Beijing: the Olympics is the only title Brazil has never won," added Kaka.

Kaka also gave warning to new star teenager Pato, of whom much is expected now that he has finally been cleared to begin his Milan career.

"Is he the new Ronaldo, I think so. But there is a risk that the expectation will put too much pressure on him," said Kaka.
