NBA star Kobe Bryant was added to the long list of celebrities to have visited the Terracotta Warriors on August 5, 2013. A basketball game was held at the ancient city wall during his visit. Bryant watched the game and gave a live commentary of the game.

The Terracotta Warriors is the most-visited attraction in Xi'an and one of the top historical attractions in China. Excavation has been continuous for over 20 years at the site, which consists of three pits and was listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 1987. In 1979, the Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang opened.
